Glenn and Towers Residence Halls

Georgia Tech

Eberly & Associates provided civil engineering services for the initial assessment of the Glenn and Towers Residence Halls renovation, which included a study of the entire site for accessibility and connectivity of the freshman student quad to the East Campus.

Subsequently, we provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the design and comprehensive renovation and addition of a 8,400 s.f. commons building with study space, gathering spaces, and a work-out facility. The renovation required extensive site and infrastructure work to bring the project up to current Georgia Tech standards and incorporates sustainable concepts including an underground cistern to capture rainwater and condensate to be used for irrigation.

Eberly ensured the protection of the stately oaks, established over decades as well as hardscape construction in close proximity to these trees. The renovated central lawn links the residence halls with dining facilities to the south. The expansive lawn provides open, clear vistas and the large, preserved Oak trees.
