As Permitted Q1 2016 – Healthcare & Senior Living
The Affordable care Act is driving many of the changes in the healthcare delivery system which are informing the design trends in hospital, clinics and other medical facilities. These design trends include:
- A focus on designing facilities that can be adapted to other uses over time
- Emergency usage driving emergency department renovation and expansion
- Aging population supporting wellness and medical facilities within the community or nearby
While the facilities are changing, Eberly & Associates approach to the unique healthcare requirements for site civil and landscape design remain constant:
- Integrating new facilities into existing infrastructure including sanitary sewers, utilities, etc.
- Locating sufficient parking for visitors and employees that is visually direct and accessible to respective entrances
- Aesthetic landscape and hardscape design that is inviting for wellness activities, meditation, visitation and sensory stimulation

The site was chosen that offered the most flexible options for the future.
