USF&W IDIQ
Boqueron, Puerto Rico
E&A provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services for multiple USF&W projects since holding an IDIQ contract in the early 1990s including a 9,500 s.f., 6 acres visitor’s center in Cabo Rojo as shown on the photo.
All USF&W projects required a high level of sustainable design awareness due to their locations within environmentally sensitive areas. In response E&A incorporated rainwater harvesting and cisterns, natural wet ponds, vegetated water quality, porous pavements and other sustainable practices into many of the USF&W projects. Preservation of existing site and vegetation was critical for each project. Low maintenance features and products were selected to match the USF&W level of maintenance appropriate for each facility.
