October 21, 2008E&A Hosts ULI Smart Growth Atlanta Meeting
Eberly and Associates is actively involved with many Urban Land Institute (ULI) programs and events. The organization helps keep us up to date on the latest trends regarding local land development challenges. In an effort to provide continuing education for both our staff and our clients, we were excited to host the monthly Smart Growth Committee meeting at our office, for the second time this year. Over 20 architects, engineers, developers and local officials gathered to take part in the lunch and learn opportunity.
This month’s speaker was our own Gregory Delaney, P.E., LEED, Senior Principal at Eberly & Associates, and an expert on Sustainable community development. Greg spoke about Development of Regional Impacts (DRI) and demonstrated the importance of understanding the DRI process when planning and designing our communities. He explained the concepts of Tiers, Thresholds and the major steps in the continually evolving DRI process.
On the 2nd Tuesday of each month the ULI Smart Growth Committee meets at various locations for a lunch and learn event, focused on educating the community on smart growth principles.
