Press ReleasesApril 24, 2009 E&A Trees Atlanta Project receives LEED Platinum Certification!Trees Atlanta is a non-profit group and was founded 19 years ago to address the issue of downtown Atlanta's diminishing green space. Trees Atlanta is committed to protecting and improving Atlanta's environment by planning and conserving trees and educating the public on the value of trees in our city. Trees Atlanta works closely with all departments of city government in coordinating ongoing projects and has over 1,500 volunteers who are active participants throughout the year. Eberly & Associates provided the civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the renovation to the existing 15,000 s.f. Trees Atlanta building that was just officially awarded LEED Platinum Certification. That's the highest level of green building which is nationally recognized for demonstrating that it is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work. Eberly & Associates has LEED accredited professionals registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and we recommend the incorporation of sustainable design principles wherever appropriate on project we design. For many in the building industry, understanding performance benefits, setting design targets, and identifying critical tasks for sustainable building are new steps. Shaping this process is a most critical aspect of developing a green building approach. Our Planners, Civil Engineers and Landscape Architects create unique solutions that respect the natural environmental conditions. Our approach results in sites that more closely reflect natural ecological patterns than traditional engineering techniques, while reaching project goals and objectives.
